North Carolina 

Candice Methe is a studio artist and educator based in the mountains of North Carolina. Her work, rooted in traditional techniques like the coil and pinch method, is inspired by historical pots and the spiritual connections cultures have with the land. She holds a BFA from Northern Arizona University and an MFA from the University of Minnesota. Methe has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally, drawing inspiration from her travels to Japan, Ghana, Nicaragua, and Mexico, where she studied traditional clay practices. She has also participated in residencies at Santa Fe Clay, Red Lodge Clay Center, Archie Bray Foundation, and Roswell Artist in Residence Foundation. When she's not in the studio, she enjoys exploring the outdoors.
