Sasha Court

Nova Scotia

Sasha Court, born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, studied math and engineering at Dalhousie University before building a two-decade career in the tech industry. Eventually, she shifted her focus entirely to ceramics, embracing the tactile and meditative nature of the craft. Sasha exclusively works with stoneware, employing the coil-building technique to construct her vessels from the ground up. Her forms are often voluminous, acting as canvases for experimental glaze applications that explore color, texture, and the beauty of imperfection.

Each piece reflects the handmade nature of her process, celebrating subtle irregularities that emerge along the way. Sasha works intuitively, inviting her spiritual consciousness to guide her as she builds. For her, ceramics is more than an artistic pursuit—it is a form of spiritual practice. Through her work, she seeks to evolve spiritually, using the creative process as a way to navigate the struggle for freedom from ego. Sasha’s vessels are not only functional but also embody a deeper personal narrative, bridging craftsmanship with introspection. Her art is a reflection of both the physical and metaphysical, where creativity becomes a path to self-discovery and inner growth.
