Valvanuz Ruiz is an artist from Palma de Mallorca, Spain, known for her fusion of painting and sculpture. Her work primarily focuses on ceramic-sculptural objects, including vessels and corporeal forms. Ruiz draws inspiration from the sedimentary nature of clay, exploring themes of temporality and space while reflecting Mediterranean culture. Her pieces incorporate unique glazes and finishes, resulting from extensive research, which infuse each work with a sense of individuality. This approach creates an intriguing dialogue between the archaic and the contemporary. Ruiz began her artistic journey in ceramics, studying under master ceramists and pursuing Fine Arts at the University of the Balearic Islands. In 2016, she opened her studio in Palma and has since exhibited widely across the USA and Europe. Currently, she is preparing for a group exhibition in London, showcasing a sculptural work that examines femininity in the context of Joan Miró's art.
